Mamilla Hotel
Jerusalem, Israel
Looking out over Jerusalem’s Old City walls, and alongside the new shopping and entertainment experience, the Alrov Mamilla Avenue that stretches straight into the Old City's Jaffa Gate, is a distinctive modern masterpiece. The Mamilla Hotel, developed and operated by Alrov Luxury Hotels, in collaboration with world- renowned architect Moshe Safdie and the illustrious designer Piero Lissoni, ignites a fresh contemporary vibe felt throughout the ancient city. Mamilla’s 194 guestrooms include varying types of suites and rooms with shifting views of the awe-inspiring city. Each room has hardwood floors, custom made Lissoni furniture paired with gorgeous local finds, and bathrooms featuring rectangular bathtubs selectively shielded by liquid crystal walls that frost over with the touch of a button for privacy.

Safdie, a native Israeli has laid the exteriors in Jerusalem Stone, a light and elegant local limestone the likes of which line the Old City’s snaking alleyways and the new city’s grand avenues. Lissoni, who created the hotel's interiors, made full use of Jerusalem’s dazzling light, which he describes as “turning from white just after dawn into a blue topaz in the afternoon.”
