Charles Billich: He was born in 1934 in Istria and is an artist and sculptor. His works were presented in the White House, the UN and the Vatican. He was named Artist of the 1996 Summer Olympics. He is the recipient of the 2000 Sport Artist of the Year Award.

SLAVOLJUB EDUARD PENKALA
Slavoljub Eduard Penkala: He lived between 1871 and 1922 and invented the first mechanical ball pen in 1906, which bears his name in Croatian, as well as the first fountain pen in 1907.
