SXC Space Expedition
Atelier Voyage is SXC Space Agent | A life changing experience
The long held dream of mankind to enter space and thereby observe our beautiful Earth from high above will become reality for the larger public. Besides Spaceport Curaçao, the epic Spaceport Mojave (known for the heroic breaking of the sound barrier by Chuck Yeager, among other things) near Los Angeles and Las Vegas is now available for SXC expeditioners.

FOUNDER ASTRONAUT - FIRST 100 TO GO TO SPACE
The first program is the exclusive Founder Astronaut Program. Only 100 customers have the honour to be part of this program. They will make the very first space flights with SXC. Many have already signed up for the Founder Astronaut Program, including Victoria Secret model Doutzen Kroes and world’s number one DJ Armin van Buuren.

It is still possible to be one of the 100 exclusive founder members and be one of the first SXC astronauts to experience spaceflight. By signing up for the Founder Astronaut Program customers will enjoy exclusive extras such as a complementary training mission (like Desdemona simulator, L-39 Albatross jet) invites for events and trips (roll out party, test flight attendance, Solar Eclipse Australia, etc.), and a three night stay in one of Curaçao’s prime hotels.
As soon as these 100 places are filled, SXC will organize a great event including a big raffle. This will determine which Founder Astronaut will be our very first passenger to travel into space, who will be nr 2, 3, …….100. This program requires you to make a direct payment of $95.000 within 7 days of signing the contract.

FUTURE ASTRONAUT PROGRAM
The second SXC program is called the Future Astronaut Program. When all founder astronauts have been into space, future astronauts will follow. A slot number will be assigned after the customer has signed the contract. This program which also includes a three night stay in a luxury hotel, requires you to make a payment of $50.000 within 7 days of signing the contract. The remaining $45.000 can be paid a few months prior to the actual flight in 2014 or 2015.

PRE-LAUNCH PROTOCOL
Unlike all other previously developed spacecrafts including the Space Shuttle, the SXC Lynx Spaceship is equipped with four revolutionary rocket engines, which can be shut down and restarted in-flight at any time. There are no disposable carrier rockets, carriers or landings at sea. The Lynx simply departs from the extended track at Space Airport, where it will return afterwards. You’ll find yourself sitting next to the pilot, going over the take-off checklist. The four engines start. Your space travel has begun.

T +60 SECONDS: BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER
You will experience the powerful thrust so familiar to jet pilots and Formula 1 drivers. Before you know it the Lynx is accelerating at an incredibly fast rate. The landscape on both sides of the long track turns into a blurry green-blue. Then you ascent. Fast and steep. As you speed towards the sky, the huge transparent canopy offers you a spectacular view. Within one minute you’ll break the sound barrier and step into the footsteps of Chuck Yaeger.

T +180 SECONDS: FASTER THAN A BULLET
The take-off is already an extremely rare experience: the enormous acceleration, caused by the four engines, the view of the bright blue Caribbean bay, islands the size of the Netherlands turning into little dots… Then, you reach Mach 3. Something even F16 pilots seldom experience.

ENGINE CUT-OFF: EARTH AS ONLY 500 PEOPLE HAVE SEEN HER
At an altitude of nearly 60 km, the pilot switches off the engines and the parabolic flight begins, during which the crew experiences weightlessness for a couple of minutes. The Lynx eventually reaches its maximum height of 103 km. The official frontier of space begins at 100 km. A place where it is completely black, despite the sunshine. From here the Earth’s curvature is clearly visible from the cockpit.

GLIDING BACK ON THE WINGS OF AN ANGEL
After 5 to 6 minutes in space the Lynx will start floating back to Earth. It will then rapidly pick up speed. In order to reduce the speed the Lynx will have to do a pull-out manoeuvre. During this manoeuvre you will experience 4.5 G for a 10 to 20 seconds. From then on you will glide back to Curaçao while enjoying the sightseeing. After a gliding flight of about fifteen minutes, often referred to as floating ‘on the wings of an angel’, the Lynx lands at Spaceport Curaçao just like a space shuttle. The entire flight has taken almost an hour.
